Having just purchased and been blown away with Stretton Payne's SG, I thought there is no way they can maintain that level of quality across all their guitars for that price. I then bought the Strat and the Tele, as if they were rubbish, I hadn't lost a great deal. I can't tell you how good they both are. They stay perfectly in tune, are well set up and have quality stamped all over them. The neck is good, comfortable and very playable, but it's never going to be a Fender at this price range. It's the tone of these guitars that blows you away. Sustain is incredible,The pick ups are amazing. I can't comment on the amps as I'm not going to be using them. If these guitars cost three times as much, I would still think they are value for money. I have taught guitar for many years and have been looking for decent inexpensive guitars for 1st timers. I will be insisting they buy these! I hope Stretton continue and widen the range! I cannot recommend them enough!
This set is fantastic value for money and I would have quite happily paid more for the quality. The pictures do not do the guitar justice, it have a beautiful glossy finish and arrived very well packaged. My son was elated to recieve this for his birthday as he had recently begun lessons at school
A gift for my 14 year old daughter, was a little worried when parcel arrived as I was expecting a larger box to house the amp. However the amp was in the box with the guitar, For a small amp it creates a lot of sound. FANTASTIC prezzie, daughter is pleased as punch. Rock Star in the making
For the money you cant ask for more. It comes as a complete outfit perfect for a beginer or someone like me who does not need a "named" guitar to enjoy playing, in fact im selling my others as they are surplus to my needs. very happy with my perchase and would recommed this to others
Brilliant guitar bought for my Christmas present by my wife. Good kit lovely sound and easy to use for me as an absolute beginner
This guitar is beautiful. It arrived very quickly double boxed and still in tune! It plays wonderfully and the tone pot is particularly wide ranging on both pickups. It plays straight out of the box because the guys who produce/sell this set it up. Maple fretboard is terrific. You get a very nice combo amplifier (+ strap, lead, strings, picks) - this guitar oozes class - I love it.
This package is excellent value for money. Much better than expected.
The Guitar itself is solid. The neck is nice and slim and the body is an ivory white colour with the pickguard being a more brilliant white. Unfortunately the stock photo doesn't do it justice. It comes with the allen keys required to adjust the action and the truss rod if required. The strings are nice and light so should suit beginners and seasoned players alike. The single pick ups are surprisingly good for the price. You can get a wide range of tones from mellow to a crunchy funk. I was quite surprised at how good it really is. I've been playing on and off for about 30 years now and I love this guitar. It's very easy to play and I can test it to it's limits without worrying too much about wearing it out. I particularly like playing 70's funk and it is ideal for that. However, if you are after particular sounds then you will need an effects pedal as you would with any other guitar.
The AMP is also incredible value. Quite loud for 10amp and again gives a good range of tones and sounds. I've only had the gain and volume on level 3 and that is just enough without disturbing the neighbours.
